Think of what people are telling police after they hit someone they didn’t see: “The sun blinded me”, “I was blinded by headlights”, “There were no streetlights”, “He darted out from behind a parked truck”, “It was raining so hard”…All of those are reasons to slow down, but most drivers don’t even slow down for the most obvious–darkness and rain or fog.
